The income from the combination of sales is used to cover farm expenses. In return we are able to offer customers more competitive prices for alpacas with flexible payment options.
Alpaca Sales
The Platinum Alpaca herd offers alpacas with superior confirmation, elite fiber characteristics originating from Peru, Chile and Bolivia. Their ancestries are from industry-recognized bloodlines, including rare Accoyo-Allianza genetics and Peruvian imports some of which have made the biggest impact on the American national herd.
Our sales list is published on AOBA Alpaca Sales and features the following alpacas for sale:
- Show quality offspring (3–12 months)
- Maiden (unproven) and Foundation bred females
- Proven Herd Sires for sale or breeding
- Junior Herd Sires for sale
We offer flexible financing for individual alpaca sales or packages of 2 or more alpacas. Be sure to check with us for information on the expected new arrivals in Spring and early Fall.

Sale of Fine Alpaca Fiber & Yarn
Alpacas come in 22 natural colors! The alpacas representing Platinum Alpaca’s fiber herd produce fine, high quality fleece that is easily marketable and in high demand.
By properly preparing all fleece before sending to a mill for yarn production to begin, the outside costs for fiber processing are kept to a minimum. We can supply natural colored yarns for sale at competitive prices. Look for it at a store or show in Virginia. The yarns produced by our alpacas are certified Virginia’s FinestTM.
Sale of Alpaca Finished Products
Customers love to wear alpaca clothing! There are specific attributes that make alpaca fiber more valuable than that of other fiber producing animals. Outdoor enthusiasts know that apparel made from hollow core fiber tends to be lightweight and much warmer than solid core equivalents. Alpaca fiber has hypoallergenic properties as well as softness, making alpaca garments comfortable – even for very sensitive skin.
Our farm is open by appointment throughout the year, and for local seasonal events. Visitors can purchase alpacas, a sheared fleece, natural or dyed skeins of yarn and alpaca products. If you would like further information, please contact us.
