For Sale
From farm to fiber, alpaca is recognized as one of the finest natural fibers in the world

Our Business Model includes:

  • Sale of alpacas and their offspring
  • Sale of breedings to award-winning herd sires
  • Sale of alpaca fiber and yarns
  • Sale of alpaca finished clothing accessories and products

The income from the combination of sales is used to cover farm expenses. In return we are able to offer customers more competitive prices for alpacas with flexible payment options.

Alpaca Sales

The Platinum Alpaca herd offers alpacas with superior confirmation, elite fiber characteristics and backgrounds originating from Peru, Chile and Bolivia. Their ancestries are from industry-recognized bloodlines, including rare Accoyo-Allianza genetics and Peruvian imports some of which have made the biggest impact on the American national herd. Alpacas are always carefully selected for the Platinum Alpacas breeding program.

Our sales list is published on AlpacaNation and features the following types of show-quality alpacas and fiber alpacas that are currently available.

  • Offspring with show-quality fiber
  • Maiden Females (unproven)
  • Bred Females (proven)
  • Junior Herd sires (young unproven males)
  • Herd sires (proven males)
  • Award-winning fiber alpacas

We offer flexible financing for both individual alpaca sales, and packages of 3 or more alpacas. Periodically the Sales List will feature special deals and packages.

Sale of Fine Alpaca Fiber & Yarn

Alpacas come in 22 natural colors! The alpacas representing Platinum Alpaca’s fiber herd produce fine, high quality fleece that is both marketable and in high demand.

The cost of fiber processing is minimized by properly preparing all fiber before the steps for yarn production can begin. Raw fleece and fiber is sold only when it has been hand-cleaned.

Throughout the year a great variety of natural colors are available for sale. Platinum Alpacas is a provider for natural alpaca yarn which can be purchased in local venues. If you would like further information, please contact us.

Platinum Alpacas are sheared once a year in the spring when temperatures are mild and fairly cool. Because alpacas produce high-end fiber, almost their entire coat is useful to produce quality clothing products (whether home-made or professionally produced). Prime alpaca fiber is processed into skeins which customers purchase to knit or crochet their own creations.

Sale of Alpaca Finished Products

Customers love to wear alpaca clothing! There are specific attributes that make alpaca fiber more valuable than that of other fiber producing animals. Alpaca fiber is semi-hollow and is hypoallergenic.

Outdoor enthusiasts know that apparel made from hollow core fiber tends to be lightweight and much warmer than solid core equivalents. Alpaca fiber has hypoallergenic properties as well as softness, making alpaca garments comfortable – even for very sensitive skin. The smoother the fiber surface, the less scratchy the fiber will feel, and the finer the quality.

Our farm is open by appointment throughout the year and for seasonal events. Visitors can purchase alpacas, a sheared fleece, natural or dyed skeins of yarn, as well as finished alpaca products (from clothing to gifts and accessories).
